Sunday I decided to take a drive up interstate 70 into the mountains to enjoy some of the colors of fall. Turns out that fall had hit the mountains sooner than it did the city, so instead of a bunch of awesome colored fall leaves and nature images I decided to hit a few of Colorado’s small tourist towns and old mining cities. In Georgetown you can get some of the best hand crafted chocolates, and dozens of other candies, which by itself makes the short drive from Denver worth it, but if you are not into sweets, the subtle tranquility of the town, kindness of the locals, many little shops, and non-chain restaurants make for a nice change from the usual hustle and bustle. Idaho Springs is a small mining city that has a lot of the same qualities of Georgetown. Some of the attraction here are the Old Gold Mine, Tommyknocker Brewing Company, and several nature walks one of which will take you by a small waterfall. Here are just a few of the images that I captured on this trip.

These images are pretty much self explanatory, but in case you have not been following my blog these were taken Sunday August 21 2010 in Estes Park Colorado. It was a beautiful day, so me and a few friends made our way up to Estes Park on a mini vacation/photo retreat away from Denver. Here is a little more of what we saw on our trip! Enjoy!
When Visiting Estes Park, be sure to line your pockets with tons of cash, as that city has at least 1 item for every tourists! Weather it is a trinket, T-shirt, a night at the historic theater for a movie, or even if it is a hamburger you seek, Estes Park downtown has it. The streets are always buzzing with people! If you have pets, don’t leave them at home, bring them along on your vacation! Everyone young and old stopped us to give the 2 dogs Kaya and Sarah that joined us on the day trip some love. The people of Estes seem to be good wholesome down to earth folk, that are just happy to see you, and make you feel welcome to their scenic little city. Here are just a few of the sites you may get to enjoy while walking down the streets of downtown!
Located in beautiful Estes Park, The Stanley Hotel is known best for its architecture, beautiful setting, famous visitors and probably best for its inspirational role in Steven King’s “The Shining.” Today I got the great opportunity to walk through and capture some images Of this magnificent Hotel
